'FIFA 17-Electronic Arts-2016' has introduced many new features in fifa 17, 'The Journey' being the most sought and popular, 'The Journey' is when you start of as a young kid playing for a local football team and then you start to follow in your granddads footsteps of becoming a professional footballer,having a trial, where scouts from every club in the premier league, comes and watches you perform you then have a choice of what club you want to play for and then live throughout and fighting for your place at the club. Using this feature makes the mode of the game a role-playing sports game choosing exactly what you want to do throughout your career.This game mode was a mix between two different game engines, 'Electronic arts' and 'Frostbite'.

FIFA 17 Target Audience

Because of the gameplay features and the elements in the game, the target audience will be set out to football fans around the age of 13.

Analysis of 2 game genres from 2 different games.

 

The colours of each map are different which show different genres, the way the game 'FIFA 17' the colours are bright and there are a lot of background features which show the place is a nice place to be with lots of cars, buildings in the back which also shows a normal occasion. On the other hand 'Call of Duty' background is very plain and deserted which shows that the scene isn't a popular place and people are trying to stay away this shows that the location is scary and dangerous and not a normal place/occasion like 'FIFA 17'. Also on FIFA 17 there are a lot of fans which shows the place is a nice comfortable place to be. The fans being in the background of the map, cheering indicates that they have chosen to come to the location as they enjoy the surroundings in the map and have come to have fun, the fans coming to the match also clearly shows that the location is a safe place otherwise they wouldn’t come. The grass on the pitch on ‘FIFA 17’ is very life-like and bright which shows that the grass is full of life and new, this shows that the grass is taken care of and is a lively place not a place which indicates death. Unlike ‘Call of Duty’ which uses dull colours to show death and very dull environment which on the players will give them a feeling of an apocalyptic atmosphere which will imply that the environment is very run down and dead. The huts in the map are very rusty and broken down which shows they are not being cleaned and the environment is dirty, another feature which shows and apocalyptic theme is the cars being on fire and all broken down, the roofs on some of the huts are severely damaged and in some cases completely ripped apart. These features give an indication to the gamer/player that the game genre is a shooter and not a sports/action like ‘FIFA 17’.Like the football on the picture on 'FIFA 17' on the far left shows that the game is a sports game using the football to indicate that. The outside environment on 'FIFA 17' also is very clean with bright aspects to show a clear happy environment. 

The placement of building, cars, objects on ‘Call Of Duty’ shows different ways to let the gamer have a more view of the genre of game also. For example there are many targets and sandbags and barriers on the map which indicate the map is a shooting game and the game map designers use this to their advantage to make the game more easier to understand the genre of game. On ‘Call Of Duty’ there is a track where a car has driven through and left its mark on the ground this is a sign of marking territory and using this is another way of indicating genre and style of game. Marking territory is a sign of danger and the genre is a shooter so it makes sense to be in that genre. Otherwise if there was a track in ‘FIFA 17’ it wouldn’t make sense or look right. ‘FIFA 17’ uses a real place which relates to hyper-realism art and links to its genre of sports simulator, the stadium is massive and you can’t see any other buildings bigger than it which shows that it’s the main place and everyone wants to be there.There is a massive size difference because of the genre is a map was the same size as 'FIFA 17' football pitch in a shooter game it would be very manic as the map is very small.

 


Why is FIFA 17 a sports game?

'FIFA 17-Electronic Arts - 2016' is a game based around the sport football, and football only. The game is a football simulator reality game, using real-life players, stadiums and managers to come realistic into the game.The game has a mode called 'Ultimate Team' which uses real players performances in real life games to update their cards and gives a competitive online mode, playing games gives you coins and spending coins gets you players.

Shooting is the main part of the game, so without shooting there wouldn't be a game, shooting the gun is a very easy part of the game. The buttons are LT on xbox to look through scope and L2 on Playstation and to fire it is RT on Xbox and R2 on Playstation. 


Why is Call of duty a shooter game?

'Call of duty-Treyarch-2010' uses guns and weapons which is a huge asset in the game which makes it become a shooter game, realistically the game is a 1st person shooter game when online but offline there is a setting where you can change the view to 3rd person.The game includes death and gore also which is another asset of a shooter game.The many features of 'Campaign' 'Multiplayer' 'Zombies' these features were all very popular.

Graphics Analysis

FIFA 17- This is a picture of the footballer 'Neymar' in FIFA 17. You can see that the graphics are very high quality here, using the features from Neymar to exact gives the player a more realistic look and is then more enjoyable for the user. They do this by using the cameras below and scan every angle of the players face, this then even gets the ink on the people and the hairstyle and then the high amount of equipment then changes it into a computer graphic of the player, these angles are then all added and edited by concept artists on the computers to alter or add extra parts to the players to make them look even more realistic.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 1 - Call of Duty makes their graphics or characters and environment differently to 'FIFA 17' unable to scan faces the game artists and developers decided on a different way to make the characters look realistic. They did this by getting real people and sticking sensors onto the characters which made the characters in-game do the actions the same as the people , so they went through all of the in-game actions and then inputted the actors into the game as that, and then edited the shape colours and faces of the characters making them look as realistic as possible.

Creating a main menu

I have made my main menu here. I made this on photoshop and therefore have chosen it to look like this. I chose these colors because, my game is kind of dark, and dangerous. The gun represents violence and therefore the colour red also shows the danger in my game.
